Sadam prepares to welcome tourists with new homestays and mega adventure-cultural fest
With this development, 39 homestays in Sadam are now ready to welcome guests, offering visitors not just accommodation but a chance to experience the authentic culture, food, and traditions of the Sikkimese way of life.

80 individuals from Sadam have successfully completed Homestay Standards and Hospitality Management Training under the Sikkim Inspire Project of the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department. The certificates were handed over to the trainees in a special programme graced by the Hon’ble Area MLA of Melli, Shri N.B. Pradhan, along with the Chairman of the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Shri Sonam Norgey Lachungpa.
With this development, 39 homestays in Sadam are now ready to welcome guests, offering visitors not just accommodation but a chance to experience the authentic culture, food, and traditions of the Sikkimese way of life. Officials said that the training focused on hospitality skills, quality standards, and ways to make the guest experience more memorable, which is expected to give a major boost to rural tourism in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA N.B. Pradhan appreciated the efforts of the trainees and encouraged them to take advantage of the growing tourism sector. He said that the success of this project would not only bring livelihood opportunities for local families but also highlight Sadam on the tourism map of Sikkim. Chairman Sonam Norgey Lachungpa also expressed confidence that the trained youths will set new benchmarks in community-based tourism.
