Rs 60,000 stolen in Tadong Mandir theft, Police begin investigation

Unknown miscreants broke into the Saraswati Dolma Mandir located at 5th Mile, Tadong, during the night of May 15 to 16 and made away with a substantial amount of cash. The theft came to light early the next morning when locals noticed signs of forced entry and the damaged donation box inside the temple.

According to information provided by Mr. Sagar Nath Sharma, a resident of 5th Mile, Tadong, and the informant in the case, the culprits managed to break open the donation box and steal cash estimated to be between ₹50,000 to ₹60,000. The exact amount is yet to be confirmed.

Following the incident, an FIR bearing number 26/2025, dated June 16, 2025, was registered under sections 305(A) and 331(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The Saraswati Dolma Mandir is considered a sacred and peaceful place of worship in the area.
