In an electrifying clash at Bhaichung Stadium on April 17, Red Panda FC Namchi secured their place in the next stage of the Sikkim Premier League (SPL) by defeating Geyzing United FC 3-1. The match, packed with energy and action, thrilled the crowd and reaffirmed Red Panda FC’s growing dominance in the tournament.
The stadium was abuzz with enthusiastic fans, as the home team delivered a spirited performance. From early on, Red Panda FC controlled the game with precision passes and aggressive play, eventually netting three goals to overpower their opponents. Geyzing United FC managed to pull back one goal, but it wasn’t enough to halt Red Panda’s momentum.
The event saw the gracious presence of MLA Erung Tenzing Lepcha, who attended as the Chief Guest, and MLA Sudesh Kumar Subba, who joined as the Special Guest. Their presence added prestige to the occasion and inspired the players on the field. The two were honoured with specially framed jerseys marked with their respective constituency numbers—presented by FDPL Board Members Nirmal Chhetri and Robin Gurung—as a token of appreciation.
Also present were sports enthusiasts and community leaders, including Jitthang Subba, President of the Constituency Level Committee (CLC) from Rinchenpong, and Dawa Norbu, CLC President from Dentam. Their support highlighted the communal pride and unity that the SPL has fostered throughout the state.
