Raju Bista meets Home Minister Amit Shah, pushes for permanent political solution in Darjeeling region

Darjeeling MP and BJP National Spokesperson Raju Bista met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital on Wednesday, where he raised key administrative and political issues related to the Darjeeling hills, Terai, and Dooars region. Bista congratulated Amit Shah on becoming the longest-serving Home Minister of India and thanked him for his continued focus on the region's long-standing demands.
In the meeting, Bista stressed the urgent need to speed up the process of finding a Permanent Political Solution for the region. He said that the people of Darjeeling, Terai, and Dooars have been waiting for decades for justice, peace, and development. He urged the Central Government to move ahead quickly with the constitutional process that would safeguard the region’s unique identity and meet the aspirations of its people.

Bista said that Home Minister Shah assured him that the Union Government is actively working on the matter.
