Darjeeling MP and BJP National Spokesperson Raju Bista on Wednesday joined senior party leader and BJP National General Secretary Sunil Bansal at the inauguration of a two-day "Mandal Sabhapati Karmshala" in Siliguri. The event, held at Uttarbanga Marwari Bhawan was attended by nearly 300 Mandal Presidents from across North Bengal in what is being seen as a significant step to strengthen the party’s grassroots organization in the region.

The training workshop, part of the broader "Mandal Prashikshan Varg," has been designed to guide Mandal-level leaders in connecting better with citizens, understanding their concerns, and improving outreach. Party leaders believe that building a strong base at the Mandal level is crucial to ensuring effective communication between the people and the leadership at higher levels.

Bista, addressing the gathering, said that such sessions play an important role in shaping the party’s future. “This training will give our Mandal Presidents the knowledge and confidence they need to serve the people better. It will help them carry out their responsibilities in a way that creates a positive impact in society,” he said.

The BJP MP also highlighted the significance of Siliguri and Darjeeling as hosts of the program. He said that the delegates were not only part of a training exercise but also had the opportunity to experience the warmth and culture of the region. “As proud hosts, we welcomed our colleagues from across North Bengal with open hearts. Our karyakartas in Siliguri and Darjeeling worked hard to ensure this program reflects the spirit of unity and service,” Bista added.

The event was further marked by the presence of senior BJP leaders who shared their guidance and experiences with the Mandal Presidents. Their participation, according to party insiders, was aimed at motivating local leaders and preparing them to take on bigger challenges in the days ahead. The training included sessions on public communication, organizational discipline, and ways to respond quickly to issues faced by people at the local level.

BJP has been paying special attention to North Bengal, an area where the party has made steady electoral gains in recent years. With 300 Mandal Presidents coming together, the event also served as a show of strength for the party, highlighting its growing organizational depth in the region.

Raju Bista, who has been vocal about the need for stronger representation of North Bengal at the national level, said that the learnings from this training will directly translate into improved public outreach. “Our aim is to ensure that no citizen feels left out. With better-trained leaders at the Mandal level, we can bridge the gap between government schemes and the people who need them the most,” he said.
