Darjeeling MP Raju Bista marked the 79th Independence Day on August 15 by hoisting the National Flag at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Mallaguri, Siliguri. The celebration, held in the presence of party workers and leaders, was charged with patriotic energy and reflected the deep enthusiasm of the people of the region for the day of national pride.

Bista, accompanied by Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh, senior BJP leaders, and a large gathering of karyakartas, said that Independence Day in the Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri, Terai, and Dooars region is celebrated with unmatched fervour and spirit. He remarked that no place in the country observes the occasion with as much enthusiasm as these areas, where people from diverse communities come together to salute the tricolour.

During his address, the MP applauded the dedication and commitment of BJP karyakartas in Siliguri and adjoining regions. He described their tireless efforts, discipline, and sense of duty as an inspiring example of patriotism in action. “I applaud all the hardworking, dedicated, and patriotic karyakartas.
