Raju Bista condemns assault on Gorkha youth activist Sudhan Gurung
The MP said that Darjeeling has endured enough suffering, particularly when it comes to losing those who work tirelessly for the betterment of the region and its people.

Member of Parliament from Darjeeling and National Spokesperson for the BJP, Raju Bista has strongly condemned the grievous assault on Gorkha youth activist Sudhan Gurung, who was leading a fight against corruption in the education sector in the hills. Gurung was attacked today and has been admitted to the District Hospital in Darjeeling for emergency treatment.
Bista expressed his outrage and said, “I am extremely anguished and outraged to learn of this brutal attack on Sudhan Gurung, a determined activist who has been relentlessly fighting for transparency and accountability in the education system. I have been in touch with district police officials and demand that those responsible for the attack, as well as those who instigated it, be brought to justice.”
The MP said that Darjeeling has endured enough suffering, particularly when it comes to losing those who work tirelessly for the betterment of the region and its people. He called out the orchestrators of the attack, holding those behind the scenes and spreading harmful rhetoric equally accountable for the violence.
“I stand firmly with Sudhan Gurung in his pursuit for justice, and I urge every citizen to support this Gorkha brother who is fighting for the future of our educated and qualified youth,” said Bista.
