Public notice issued for absconding person in Pakyong criminal case

The Pakyong Police Station has issued a public notice regarding a person who is reportedly missing or absconding in connection with an ongoing criminal case. The individual, identified as Mr. Kamal Chettri, 37, son of Shyam Chettri, has been charged in connection with Pakyong PS Criminal Case No. 14/2024, registered on April 27, 2024. The case pertains to offences under Sections 279 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860, which deal with rash driving and causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others.

According to police reports, Kamal Chettri was last residing at Setipool in Pakyong District, Sikkim. However, his permanent residence is in Alipurduar, West Bengal. He was last seen at Setipool, Pakyong, after which he has gone missing. The authorities suspect that he may be absconding to evade legal proceedings.

The Investigating Officer (I/O) of the case, SI Indra Bahadur Chettri, has urged the public to provide any information regarding the whereabouts of Kamal Chettri. Those with any relevant information are requested to contact the police at mobile number 6296900144.

The Deorali Police Station, in collaboration with the Pakyong Police Station, has intensified efforts to locate the missing person. Law enforcement agencies are monitoring possible locations where Mr. Chettri might have taken refuge. The police have also appealed to the general public to assist in tracing the individual by reporting any leads at the earliest.
