In a significant step towards strengthening the ties between the Centre and Sikkim, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has accepted an invitation from Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay to visit the state. This development reflects the growing rapport between Chief Minister Golay and the central leadership, marking another milestone in the state’s political landscape.
To ensure the smooth execution of the visit, a high-level meeting was convened at the Tashiling Secretariat. The meeting was led by Chief Administrator and Cabinet Secretary Mr. V.B. Pathak, alongside Chief Secretary Mr. R. Telang. Focused discussions were held on key preparations, including security arrangements, logistical support, and coordination among various departments.
Security protocols were a top priority, with inter-departmental coordination also taking center stage. Medical readiness was another major point of discussion to ensure the safety and well-being of all involved. Each department provided updates on their preparedness to guarantee a seamless visit.
In addition to the Prime Minister’s visit, the upcoming State Day celebrations on May 16 were also reviewed during the meeting. The Director General of Police Mr. Akshay Sachdeva, along with senior officials and department heads, attended the meeting, highlighting the state’s committed approach to ensuring flawless execution of both the Prime Minister’s visit and the State Day celebrations.
