The Tourism and Civil Aviation Department of Sikkim held the 4th Coordination Meeting and site inspection for the upcoming Sikkim Rural Tourism Meet 2025 at Uttarey, Gyalshing District. The event, part of the Sikkim INSPIRES project, aims to promote rural tourism and community-based tourism activities across the state.
The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble MLA-cum-Advisor for Tourism & Civil Aviation, Sudesh Kr. Subba, and attended by Neeraj Pradhan, Principal Chief Engineer and Nodal Officer for Sikkim INSPIRES. Zilla Panchayat Members, Gram Panchayat Members, and officers from the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department were also present.
During the session, discussions focused on plans to showcase Sikkim’s rural tourism products, emphasizing the region’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and community-driven tourism activities. The upcoming meet will serve as a platform to connect local communities with potential visitors and stakeholders, fostering sustainable tourism practices.
