Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers across Sikkim offered special prayers on May 25 at temples, monasteries, churches, mosques, and other places of worship. These prayers were held to seek blessings for the smooth and successful visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Sikkim on the occasion of the 50th Statehood Day.
The prayers were not limited to just one religion. BJP karyakartas visited gumpas (Buddhist monasteries), mandirs (Hindu temples), mangkhims and manghims (places of worship for the Kirati and Limboo communities), as well as churches and mosques. People from different parts of the state took part in this spiritual event, showing the unity and cultural harmony that is deeply rooted in Sikkimese society.
With incense burning and lamps lit, the atmosphere was filled with devotion and hope. In the quiet corners of the hills and valleys, chants and prayers could be heard as people prayed for a peaceful and meaningful visit by the Prime Minister. The sound of bells, the rhythm of hymns, and the soft voices in prayer reflected the respect and love that people feel for the sacred land of Sikkim and for the country’s leadership.
The Prime Minister is expected to visit Sikkim during the celebrations of the 50th year of the state’s inclusion in the Indian Union. This visit is being seen as a very important and proud moment for Sikkim. People believe it is not only a time to look back at the journey of the past fifty years but also to look ahead to a brighter and more developed future for the state.
