With just days to go before the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India visits Sikkim on May 29, a crucial coordination meeting was held at Dawnhill, Gangtok, to fine-tune preparations and ensure smooth execution of all arrangements for the high-profile event.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the All Sikkim ASHA Welfare Association, All Sikkim ICDS Welfare Association, Self Help Groups (SHGs), and the Sikkim Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM). Senior officials and experienced administrators, such as Shri Rewaj Chettri, Officer on Special Duty for Sikkim Development and Entrepreneurship, and former Additional Political Secretaries from various districts — Shri Tshering Wangyal Bhutia (North), Shri Sukhang Limboo (Soreng), Shri Madhu Sudhan (Gyalshing), and Shri Bishal Sharma (Pakyong) — were also present. Other notable attendees included Shri Hari Razal and young professionals from Sarathi 1.0, namely Ms. Anzila Y., Ms. Natasha Pariyar, and Ms. Sneha Chettri.
Discussions during the meeting revolved around the precise allocation of responsibilities to different organizations. Each group was assigned specific tasks to ensure their active and organized participation in welcoming the Prime Minister. A major focus was placed on finalizing the list of attendees from each association, setting a standardized dress code for visual harmony, and clearly outlining the reporting and assembly times for May 29.
Participants discussed on the importance of maintaining discipline and dignity during the event, particularly given the national attention the visit is expected to attract. The attendees unanimously resolved to uphold the decorum of the occasion and work in unison to showcase the best of Sikkimese hospitality and organizational strength.
