Pang Lhab Sol Rabong 2025 preparations begin with site inspection

Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming Pang Lhab Sol Festival Rabong 2025, which will be celebrated with great pomp and devotion from August 30 to September 7. A site inspection was carried out today under the guidance and leadership of Shri Riksal Dorjee Bhutia, Hon’ble MLA of 09 Barfung Constituency, accompanied by Shri Bishnu P. Sharma, APS to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Namchi, Ravangla SDM, and members of the Pang Lhab Sol Rabong 2025 Celebration Committee.
The inspection aimed to review the ongoing preparations and ensure that the arrangements are well in place ahead of the grand festival. Officials, local stakeholders, and committee members expressed confidence that this year’s edition of Pang Lhab Sol will be one of the most vibrant celebrations of culture, faith, and community spirit in the region.
Pang Lhab Sol is one of Sikkim’s most revered festivals, celebrated annually to honor Mount Khangchendzonga, the guardian deity of the state. Known for blending spirituality with cultural and community participation, the festival brings together devotees, cultural troupes, sports enthusiasts, and visitors from across the state.
In Rabong, which has emerged as a prominent hub of celebrations over the years, the festival is not only a spiritual occasion but also a platform to showcase local traditions, music, dance, and sports. This year’s edition is expected to draw large gatherings, adding to the festive atmosphere of the town.
As part of the celebrations, the Intra-Sikkim Volleyball Tournament will begin at New Market, Rabong, on August 30, setting the tone for a week of energetic events. Sports have become an integral feature of the Pang Lhab Sol celebrations, promoting unity, discipline, and youth participation.
The volleyball tournament, which attracts teams from different parts of Sikkim, is seen as an opportunity to encourage young athletes and strengthen the sense of community. Local sports lovers are eagerly looking forward to the matches, which often draw packed audiences and spirited cheering.
Speaking during the inspection, MLA Shri Riksal Dorjee Bhutia praised the dedication of the Pang Lhab Sol Rabong 2025 Celebration Committee, noting that their tireless work will ensure smooth and successful festivities. He urged all stakeholders to work hand in hand, keeping in mind both cultural reverence and modern event management practices.
