Pakyong driver families receive LPG support under Aama Sahayog Yojana

A cheque distribution programme under the Aama Sahayog Yojana was held at Pakyong, reflecting the inclusive vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang. The programme was organized under the leadership of Shri Suraj Subba, Vice-Chairman of Pakyong District, All Sikkim Sarathi Welfare Board.
The event saw the esteemed presence of Shri Sonam Ongdup Bhutia, Chairman of the Board, as Chief Guest, along with special guest Shri D.B. Chettri, OSD to Hon’ble MLA, Rhenock Constituency, and other dignitaries including Shri Chung Chung Bhutia, Treasurer, and Shri Bhuwan Pradhan, Office Secretary of the Board. Executive members and representatives from various associations also actively participated in the ceremony.

The scheme specifically targets financially vulnerable driver families across Pakyong District, ensuring essential support for their daily needs.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and OSD highlighted the welfare initiatives of the SKM Government, emphasizing the state administration’s commitment to the well-being of Sarathi Guruji and the driver community. The programme was efficiently hosted by Shri Raguel Lepcha, Publicity Secretary of the Pakyong Mainline Taxi Association.
Adding a celebratory note, it was announced that Miss Babita Thapa Mangar, daughter of a Sarathi Guruji from Singtam and member of the Singtam Driver Association, has reached the final round of Nepali Idol Season 6. The Board leaders, along with her father, appealed to the public for votes, providing a QR code for easy participation. They urged Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang to bless and support Babita’s journey, emphasizing that her success would bring pride to the entire driver community of Sikkim.
