The Annual Monsoon Ride 2025 of the Open Road Wanderers Motorcycle Club ended on a powerful and inspiring note this year. The event was not only about motorcycles and open roads but also about carrying a meaningful message for society. The riders dedicated their efforts to two major causes — spreading awareness about a drug-free lifestyle through the Nasha Mukta Sikkim Ride and extending a helping hand to young footballers through a charity ride to the Bermiok Football Academy.

The first day of the ride began from Singtam and took the riders through the route of Mamring, Namchi, Damthang and finally to Rukumtar. Throughout the journey, the bikers carried the slogan: “Some do drugs, others pour bottles, we solve our problems with wide open throttle.” This message was aimed at encouraging the youth of Sikkim to say no to drugs and alcohol, and instead find strength and joy in positive pursuits.

The ride was carried out in collaboration with Brotherhood Bulleters Motorcycle Club and Crusaders Motorcycle Club, who joined hands to make the campaign larger and stronger. The movement received important support from Singtam Nagar Panchayat and the Singtam Police, who worked closely with the riders to ensure the message reached people in every stop along the way.

The flag-off ceremony of the ride was an important moment. It was graced by several respected dignitaries including Shri Suresh Kumar Tamang, President of Singtam Nagar Panchayat; Shri Ujjwal Pandey, Special Executive Magistrate; Shri Suren Tamang, MEO Rangpo; Shri Sher Bahadur Manger, SHO of Singtam; Shri Navin Thapa, DFO; Shri Tenzing Sherpa, Civil Defence Sector Warden of Singtam; and Shri Prakash Pradhan, Youth Convener. The event also saw active participation and support from the Singtam Police team. Together, these officials and the riders gave their voice to the campaign #SayNoToDrugs, reinforcing the message that a healthier and addiction-free lifestyle is the only way forward for society.

The second day of the Annual Monsoon Ride 2025 was equally meaningful. The riders turned their focus towards supporting young sporting talent by organizing a charity ride to Bermiok Football Academy. A strong team of around 50 riders from Open Road Wanderers and Brotherhood Bulleters MC gathered at the academy for this noble cause.

The Management Committee of Bermiok Football Academy welcomed the riders with warmth and gratitude. The bikers did not come empty-handed — they brought with them valuable contributions to help the young players in their sporting journey. This included five brand-new footballs, ₹10,000 financial support from Open Road Wanderers, and ₹8,000 financial support from Brotherhood Bulleters MC.

During the program, Mr. Roshan Chettri, Chief of Open Road Wanderers MC, addressed the young players. He reminded them that “the secret to success is hard work” and encouraged them to chase their dreams with dedication and discipline. He also expressed his hope that many bright football stars would emerge from the academy in the future, while promising continued support through such initiatives.
