The Organisation of Musicians & Artistes of Sikkim (OMAS) today reimbursed cheques totaling Rs. 1.32 lakh to 12 entrepreneurs who participated in the recent "Souvenirs of Sikkim" event. These entrepreneurs, out of 36 local participants, were not empaneled with the RAMP (Rural Artisans Marketing Programme) and the Commerce and Industries Department.

The initiative aimed at encouraging and assisting local stall holders was a step toward recognizing their contribution to promoting Sikkim's unique cultural and artistic heritage. In its press statement, OMAS emphasized the importance of such entrepreneurial efforts, stating, "We also encouraged them to empanel themselves with the Commerce and Industries Department so that they could benefit from various schemes and initiatives under the department."

The reimbursement of Rs. 1.32 lakh is seen as a positive gesture to uplift local businesses and ensure that the entrepreneurs gain access to further support from government schemes. OMAS aims to continue fostering an environment where Sikkim’s art, culture, and entrepreneurial spirit can thrive.
