Making waves as one of the brightest young sporting talents of Sikkim, nine-year-old Ved Rai, a Class IV student of Udichi Elementary School, Namchi District, delivered a stunning performance at the XIX Sikkim State Open Swimming Championship 2025, held on August 23 and 24.
Competing in the highly competitive Sub Junior IV Boys category, Ved Rai dominated the pool by winning an astonishing nine gold medals in all the events he contested. His clean sweep earned him the coveted Best Swimmer Trophy of his category, establishing his name as a young prodigy in the state’s sporting circles.
The scale of his achievement is remarkable. Winning every race he entered, Ved displayed exceptional strength, stamina, and refined swimming technique—qualities that set him apart from his peers.
