New Adhoc Committee of ASGEA (C&D) formed in presence of Sister Associations
In accordance with Article 57(b) and Article 16(b) of the association’s constitution, and with the approval and support of all present representatives, a new 16-member Adhoc Committee was officially formed.

A general meeting of representatives from various sister associations under the All Sikkim Government Employees Association (ASGEA) was held today at the ASGEA Guest House. The meeting followed a resolution passed in an earlier gathering held on May 18, 2025. It was chaired by Shri Kunchok Tshering Bhutia from the Power Department.
The key agenda of the meeting was to take forward the discussions held earlier and form a new Adhoc Committee of ASGEA (C&D). As per the decision taken in the last meeting, the previous Adhoc Committee was invited to attend today’s session. However, none of the members of the old committee were present at the venue.
In accordance with Article 57(b) and Article 16(b) of the association’s constitution, and with the approval and support of all present representatives, a new 16-member Adhoc Committee was officially formed. The process was democratic and had the consent of members from several major sister associations. These included associations from the press, power sector, education, health, clerical staff, drivers, linemen, paramedical staff, and others representing government employees in various departments.
The newly nominated committee members are as follows:
• President: Mr. Norden Bhutia
• Vice President-I: Mr. Rakesh Gurung
• Vice President-II: Mrs. Som Maya Rai
• General Secretary: Mr. Abishek Kharel
• Joint Secretary-I: Mr. Palden Sherpa
• Joint Secretary-II: Mrs. Prasan Subba
• Treasurer-I: Mr. Gyalschen Dadul Bhutia
• Treasurer-II: Mrs. Diki Sherpa
• Publicity Secretary-I: Mrs. Kunsang Bhutia
• Publicity Secretary-II: Mr Passang Lhamu Pradhan
• Publicity Secretary-III: Mrs. Tsho Pema Tamang
• Member Secretaries: Mr. Ash Hang Subba, Mr. Kunchok Tshenlop Bhutia, Mr. D.B. Rai, Mrs. Baby Lepcha, and Mr. Tanka Bdr. Gurung
In addition, three individuals were nominated as advisors to the new committee:
• Chief Advisor: Kunsang Sherpa
• Advisors: Ashok Subba and Laxman Adhikari
The meeting concluded on a positive note with all sister associations showing support for the new committee. The committee members expressed their willingness to work together and uphold the welfare of Group C&D employees under ASGEA.
The next meeting of the newly formed Adhoc Committee has been scheduled for June 1, 2025, at the Guest House of Group C&D Employees, Hospital Dara, at 11:15 AM. All members and associated representatives are expected to attend.
