With thousands of devotees and visitors expected to gather for the Indra Jatra celebrations at Kabrey, Namthang, the Namchi District Police have put in place special traffic arrangements to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and public safety.

Additional SP Bikas Tiwari on Saturday informed that the Namthang–Kabrey road will operate as a one-way route from 6 AM to 8 PM on the day of the celebrations. He said the step was necessary to prevent traffic congestion and to provide hassle-free access for pilgrims and community members attending the festival.

Indra Jatra, one of the most significant festivals of the Newar community, is celebrated with devotion, rituals, and cultural performances in honor of Lord Indra, the deity of rain and prosperity. The festival usually attracts large gatherings, and Kabrey has become one of the important venues for its observance in Namchi district.

Police officials urged residents and visitors to cooperate with the one-way traffic system and follow designated routes. They also appealed to drivers to avoid unnecessary parking along the festival route and to maintain patience during peak hours.
