Namchi district holds coordination meeting for Sikkim INSPIRES & IEIAP implementation

A coordination meeting cum orientation for the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and household survey under Sikkim INSPIRES (Integrated Services Provision & Innovation for Reviving Economics) and IEIAP (Integrated Economic Inclusion Action Plan) was held today at the Officers’ Club, Namchi.
The meeting was chaired by Anupa Tamling, DC Namchi & Chairperson of IEIAP, in the presence of senior officials including Mr. Subash Ghimirey (ADC HQ Namchi), Dr. C.P. Rai (ADC Dev Namchi), Mr. Sunil Mothey (ADC Dev Ravangla), Heads of Departments (HoDs), elected representatives, and association members.
Addressing the gathering, DC Tamling emphasized the importance of collaboration and strategic planning in executing the Sikkim INSPIRES project. She acknowledged the World Bank and State Government’s financial backing for the initiative and urged teams conducting FGDs to thoroughly assess projects, identify strengths and weaknesses, and eliminate overlapping efforts to ensure maximum benefits for the district.
Sunil Mothey (ADC Dev Ravangla) provided an overview of Sikkim INSPIRES, explaining its focus on entrepreneurship, employment generation, and economic empowerment in non-farm and off-farm sectors.Dr. C.P. Rai (ADC Dev Namchi) stressed the role of FGDs in understanding grassroots-level issues.Anupama Rai (Deputy Secretary, Ravangla) guided facilitators on conducting FGDs while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to regulations for elected representatives, community-based organizations, women, youth, and entrepreneurs.Asenla Bhutia (Panchayat Inspector) discussed youth and women employment surveys, providing enumerators with guidelines for the household survey.
