Musical Maestros Jason Zac and Lillian Zachariah Enthrall Students at CMCS Pangthang

It was a day of rhythmic revelations and melodic magic at Chief Minister Charter School Pangthang as acclaimed musician and educator, Jason Zac, alongside his talented mother, Lillian Zachariah, graced the premises all the way from Bangalore. Together, they performed a captivating workshop titled ‘Introduction to Music’ for the enthusiastic students of classes 6, 7 and 8.

Commencing at 10:30 AM, the workshop kicked off with Zac delving into the fundamentals of harmony and rhythm.

“Music is a universal language. We might not know each other’s local language, but we can both understand and connect with music,” expressed Zac

With the rhythmic beat of claps, Zac demystified the essence of rhythm, intertwining the intricacies of mathematics with musicality. Students were then divided into groups, tasked with composing their own rhythms, fostering collaborative creativity.

Zac elucidated the concepts of scale and pitch. From the seven Indian ‘swaras’ to the nuances of pitch, students were enraptured by the harmonious journey.
