Member of Parliament Indra Hang Subba chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Pakyong District at the Community Hall, Pakyong, on June 20. The meeting brought together key officials, elected representatives, and stakeholders to review and reinforce development efforts across the district.
Setting the tone for the day, the Additional District Magistrate delivered the welcome address, opening a platform for in-depth reviews and discussions. Senior officials from multiple departments—including the General Managers of Rhenock and NHIDCL (Ranipool PMU), Divisional Engineer (Zilla) of the Jal Jeevan Mission’s Multi Village Drinking Water Project, and representatives from the Social Welfare Department, Pakyong Airport, and Indian Railways (Rongpo)—presented status updates on various developmental projects.
In his address, MP Indra Hang Subba spoke about the need for cooperation and transparency across all administrative levels. “It is only through coordinated effort and mutual trust that we can bring meaningful change to our people’s lives,” he stated, urging departments and local bodies to work in tandem for timely implementation of schemes and projects.
The open discussion segment that followed allowed for a candid exchange of views and concerns. Panchayat members and department heads actively participated, pointing out bottlenecks and proposing viable solutions. From infrastructure delays to social welfare outreach, the dialogue reflected a ground-up approach in tackling developmental challenges.
Of particular note were discussions on improving connectivity and public services in rural areas. Stakeholders acknowledged the role of Pakyong Airport and the anticipated railway connectivity in transforming the region’s economic and mobility landscape. The Indian Railways and NHIDCL teams assured the gathering of their commitment to resolving pending issues and expediting key projects.
