Gangtok witnessed a thrilling conclusion to the first-ever Mountain Rush TSD Rally 2025, as the event wrapped up with a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony held at a local hotel on Friday evening. The rally, organized by Summit Times and Service to Mankind in association with the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Sikkim, marked a historic celebration of both motorsport and Sikkim’s 50th year of statehood.

Deputy Mayor of Gangtok Municipal Corporation, Tshering Palden Bhutia, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She was joined by Press Secretary to the Chief Minister, Yougan Tamang, and Officer on Special Duty (Political Affairs) to the Chief Minister, Karma Subba, as Guests of Honour. Secretary of the Information and Public Relations Department, Annapurna Alley, was also present, adding to the prestige of the event.

The rally, spanning across Sikkim’s challenging terrains in all six districts, tested not only the driving skills of participants but also their endurance and teamwork. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries praised the competitors for showcasing true sportsmanship and resilience, qualities that mirror Sikkim’s own journey over the past five decades.

Trophies and certificates were awarded amid cheers and celebrations. In the National Category, the winners were:

• 1st Place: Driver Soham Hazra and Navigator Nirav Mehta

• 2nd Place: Driver SK Aniruddha and Navigator Prakash M

• 3rd Place: Driver Uday Ganguli and Navigator Rudrangsho Dey

• 4th Place: Driver SK Ajgar Ali and Navigator Ibrahim Ali Shaikh

• 5th Place: Driver Jogendra Kumar Jaiswal and Navigator Chandan Sen

In the Open Experts Category:

• 1st Place: Driver Shekhar Choudhury and Navigator Souradeep Dutta

• 2nd Place: Driver Deep Dutta and Navigator Suvrajit Dutta

• 3rd Place: Driver Rajib Sarkar and Navigator Adithya Anthony A

In the Open Amateur Category:

• 1st Place: Driver Sumit Priyadarshi and Navigator Padmaja Priyadarshi

• 2nd Place: Driver Tshegyal Tashi and Navigator Leon Wangdi

• 3rd Place: Driver Asjad Ahmed Choudhury and Navigator Dr Sukrana Choudhury

In the Sikkim Local Category:

• 3rd Place: Driver Dorjee Thendup Bhutia and Navigator Karma Lhendup Bhutia

Speaking on the occasion, Yougan Tamang lauded the participants for their determination and discipline, emphasizing how events like these not only promote adventure sports but also place Sikkim firmly on the national map for motorsport and adventure tourism.

Participants shared glowing reviews of the rally, praising the breathtaking routes, well-organized stages, and the sheer thrill of navigating Sikkim’s natural landscapes. Many expressed eagerness to return for future editions.

The ceremony also recognized the crucial contributions of sponsors and partners who made the rally possible.
