Minister for Ecclesiastical, PHE, and Water Resources Department, Ven Sonam Lama, participated in the All India State Water Ministers Conference 2025, held in Rajasthan. The conference brought together prominent policymakers and officials from across the country to discuss critical issues related to water conservation, management, and sustainability.
The event, chaired by Shri C. R. Paatil, Hon’ble Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India, saw the participation of several high-ranking officials, including Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan; Dr. Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura; Dr. B. D. Mishra, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh; and Shri Mukesh Agnihotri, Deputy Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.
During the discussions, participants exchanged insights on innovative water conservation strategies, inter-state cooperation, and sustainable water resource management policies. Hon’ble Minister Ven Sonam Lama showcased Sikkim’s proactive measures in ensuring water security. These included eco-friendly water conservation techniques, watershed management, and rural drinking water projects, which have been integral in enhancing water sustainability in the state.
The conference provided a valuable platform for states and union territories to collaborate, share knowledge, and address water-related challenges. Minister Ven Sonam Lama reaffirmed Sikkim’s strong commitment to contributing to national water resource management goals and promoting sustainable development practices.
