Martin Group donates Rs 2 crore for sports development in Sikkim

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Tuesday expressed his gratitude to Dear Lotteries of the Martin Group for their generous contribution towards the promotion of sports in the state. The company handed over a demand draft of ₹2 crore to the District Collector of Gangtok as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

A significant portion of this donation will be used to support the successful organization of Sikkim Premier League (SPL) Season 3, a flagship football tournament that has been instrumental in nurturing young football talent in the state. CM Tamang praised the initiative, stating that it would provide aspiring footballers with a strong platform to showcase their skills and further boost Sikkim’s presence in the sporting world.

The Chief Minister also expressed his sincere appreciation to Shri K.R. Shankar, Representative of Martin Group; Shri Pawan Awasthy, Principal Director, Sikkim State Lotteries; and Shri Tushar Nikhare, District Collector, Gangtok, for their roles in facilitating this significant contribution. He acknowledged their dedication to sports development in the state and looked forward to the positive impact of this initiative in the coming days.
