Major Police reshuffle in Sikkim; 18 SPS Officers transferred across key posts

In a significant administrative development, the Government of Sikkim’s Department of Personnel has issued a major reshuffle involving 18 officers of the Sikkim Police Service (SPS), aimed at strengthening law enforcement and administrative efficiency across districts. The order, sanctioned by the Governor, takes immediate effect.

Key highlights of the reshuffle include the transfer of Mr. Mahendra Subba, SDPO of Rangpo, who has been appointed as the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Traffic, Gangtok. Similarly, Mr. Arun Thatal, SDPO of Chungthang, has been posted as ASP, Sikkim Vigilance Police, Gangtok. Mr. Parshuram Sharma, Deputy Commandant of the 2nd IRBn, Pipaley, will now serve as ASP of Soreng District.

Further appointments include Mr. Prakash Subba (SDPO, Pakyong) being moved to the Vigilance Police as ASP in Gangtok, while Mr. Pravin Lamichaney, the current ASP (Traffic) for Gangtok and Pakyong Districts, will now take charge as ASP, Special Branch, Namchi. Mr. Kessang Dorjee Bhutia will serve as SDPO, Jorethang, having previously been posted in Gyalshing.

Several other officers have also been reassigned across key posts:

• Mr. Bikash Basnett to Vigilance Police, Gangtok.

• Mr. Chewang Dorjee Bhutia to SDPO, Soreng.

• Mr. Chandan Chettri to SDPO, Chungthang.

• Mr. Bikash Rai to SDPO, Pakyong.

• Mr. Tulshi Thapa to Traffic, Gangtok.

• Mr. Bimal Kumar Gurung to SDPO, Gyalshing.

• Mr. Tashi Chopel Bhutia to Deputy CSO to HCM, Special Branch.

• Mr. Mingyur Tempo Nadik to SDPO, Gangtok.

• Mr. Sanjay Rai to SDPO, Rongli.

• Mr. Roshan Rai to SDPO, Ravangla.

• Mr. Sameer Pradhan to SDPO, Rangpo.

Moreover, Tara Sharma, SHO of Ranipool Police Station, recently promoted as Deputy Superintendent of Police in an officiating capacity, has been posted as SDPO, Mangalbaria.
