Lingyong celebrates 34th Nepali Bhasa Manyata Diwas with culture and sports

The 34th Nepali Bhasa Manyata Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Lingyong Junior High School under Barfung Constituency, drawing community members, students, and dignitaries for a day of cultural pride and spirited sportsmanship.

Shri Sonam Pintso Bhutia, Chairman of the Power Department, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Shri Suk Hang Limboo, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Power Department, attended as the Guest of Honour. Both leaders appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for curating a vibrant and meaningful programme that showcased deep respect for Nepali language and culture.

In their addresses, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of preserving linguistic identity and promoting cultural heritage. They also emphasized the role of such events in uniting communities and encouraging youth participation in both cultural and sporting activities.

The celebration featured a series of colourful cultural performances by local students and groups, which brought the audience to life with traditional songs, dances, and displays of regional art forms. A football match added an energetic touch to the day, setting the stage for the tournament’s final, which will be held on August 20, 2025, to mark the concluding event of the 34th Nepali Bhasa Manyata Diwas.
