Lagyap substation to undergo 12-hour power shutdown on July 2 for transformer repairs

The Power Department has announced a scheduled power shutdown at the Lagyap Substation on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, to facilitate urgent repair work on the 6 MVA power transformer. The shutdown will be in effect from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and is part of preventive maintenance efforts aimed at avoiding a major breakdown in the near future.
In an official notice issued by the Executive Engineer of Lagyap, the department stated that the transformer requires immediate attention to ensure long-term reliability and safety of the power infrastructure serving the region. The move is part of the department’s broader strategy to strengthen grid stability and minimize the risk of unexpected outages.
“We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely apologize for the disruption. This maintenance is crucial for ensuring a dependable power supply in the future,” the statement read.

The Power Department has also advised that any urgent queries or concerns during the maintenance period can be directed to the respective control rooms or field offices.
