The much-awaited election for the Pipon of Lachung Dzomsa for the year 2024-2025 was held at Lachung Thomchi Ground on December 31. The election saw two candidates vying for the esteemed position from Leema Block: Sonam Tshering Lachungpa and Pema Wangdi Lachungpa.
The Dzomsa, a traditional system of self-governance and administrative institution that has been in place for centuries in the regions of Lachung and Lachen in North Sikkim, is headed by the "Pipon."
