Journalist Dilli Ram Dulal awarded Sewa Shri Samman 2025 at Bhasha Samman Diwas in Sikkim

Senior journalist, editor, and writer Dilli Ram Dulal has been honoured with the prestigious Sewa Shri Samman 2025 by the Nepali Sahitya Parishad Sikkim. The award was conferred during the 34th Bhasha Samman Diwas celebration in Gangtok, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of journalism and his dedicated service to society through the written word.

The Sewa Shri Samman is one of the highest honours presented by the Parishad to individuals who have played an important role in strengthening Nepali language, literature, and culture. This year’s recognition for Dulal highlights his decades-long career as a journalist and editor, during which he not only reported news but also provided thoughtful analysis on issues affecting the Nepali-speaking community in Sikkim and beyond.

The 34th Bhasha Samman Diwas was observed with pride and enthusiasm, marking the historic moment when Nepali language was officially included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. The celebration brought together writers, poets, cultural leaders, and students who paid tribute to the legacy of the language and honoured those who continue to work for its growth and recognition.
