The final day of the Kuzu Cultural Heritage Walk 2025 took a patriotic turn as participants gathered to honor the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers. Organized by the Department of Culture, the heritage walk—which began on May 1—concluded on May 10 with a special event titled the “Jai Jawan Jai Hind” Solidarity March.

The cultural initiative, aimed at promoting awareness of Sikkim's rich heritage, saw enthusiastic participation throughout its 10-day run. On the 9th day alone, a record 1,870 participants joined the walk, reflecting the growing public interest in cultural and historical exploration. However, in light of evolving diplomatic and defense developments between India and Pakistan, organizers decided to dedicate the final day to the nation's armed forces.

The concluding walk, renamed as the Solidarity March, began from the State Archives and culminated at Manan Kendra, Sikkim’s renowned cultural complex. The event witnessed a diverse turnout, with school students, university scholars, local residents, and army officers walking shoulder-to-shoulder in a moving tribute to national service and unity.

Carrying banners, tricolour flags, and chanting slogans of “Jai Jawan Jai Hind”, the marchers created a powerful visual of solidarity. The presence of uniformed officers walking alongside young students and scholars added a deeper sense of connection between the civil population and the military.
