Sudhir Kumar, Inspector General, Frontier Headquarters Siliguri, conducted a formal visit to the 72nd Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Yuksom, from April 28 to 29, 2025. Jai Prakash, Commandant of the 72nd Battalion was also present during the visit.

The Inspector General began his visit with a thorough inspection of the battalion campus and offices, assessing various arrangements and ensuring that all facilities were in top condition. Following the inspection, Sudhir Kumar addressed the officers and personnel during the Sainik Sammelan, a gathering designed to foster communication and engagement between the leadership and the rank-and-file. During the Sammelan, he personally interacted with the personnel, listening to their concerns, suggestions, and needs.
