To empower tribal communities in North Sikkim, the District-Level Committee Meeting of the Dharti Aabha Jan Jatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) was convened today in the chamber of the District Collector of Mangan. The meeting, chaired by the District Collector in his capacity as the Chairperson of the committee, reviewed the status, progress, and coordination mechanisms for the scheme aimed at uplifting Jan Jatiya (tribal) gram communities.
The DA-JGUA, aligned with the central government’s Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN), seeks to ensure the all-round development of tribal and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) households through concentrated welfare efforts at the village level.
During the meeting, key discussions revolved around strengthening inter-departmental cooperation and finalizing action plans for the successful rollout of the “Dharti Aaba Abhiyan – Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camps,” which will be held from June 15 to 30, 2025. These camps are designed to reach the remotest tribal households with doorstep delivery of critical government services.
As part of the campaign, villagers will be provided essential services including Aadhaar enrolment, ration cards, health IDs, pensions, bank account facilitation, and access to other welfare schemes. The initiative is being coordinated with the help of Common Service Centres (CSCs), local administrative departments, and frontline health and social workers to ensure real-time service delivery.
