The Himalayan Fashion Week brought a vibrant fusion of tradition and modernity to life at MG Marg, Gangtok on Saturday. The event, graced by the Chief Minister’s spouse, Krishna Kumari Rai, as the Chief Guest celebrated the cultural diversity of Northeast India while spotlighting evolving fashion trends.

A dazzling showcase of traditional attire and modern winter collections captivated the audience, reaffirming the region's rich cultural tapestry. Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Raj Kumari Thapa, Deputy Mayor Tshering Palden and other dignitaries attended the event.

In her keynote address, Krishna Kumari Rai praised the organizers for creating a platform that celebrates the region’s diverse cultures. She expressed pride in seeing traditional Sikkimese attire stand out amid contemporary designs, noting the importance of such initiatives in preserving and promoting cultural identity.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang extended his full support, emphasizing the need to combine cultural preservation with innovation to elevate Sikkim’s profile on the global stage.
