BJP Sikkim’s Media Incharge, Niren Bhandari, extended his warmest greetings to the Press Club of Sikkim on the occasion of its 23rd Foundation Day. In a heartfelt message, Bhandari praised the dedication and excellence of the state’s journalists and wished the Club continued growth and success.

“Warmest congratulations to the Press Club of Sikkim on its 23rd Foundation Day,” Bhandari said, highlighting the Club’s continued efforts in shaping public opinion, encouraging democratic dialogue, and driving social impact through journalism.

He acknowledged the valuable role the Press Club plays not only as a professional body but also as a platform that supports journalistic talent and welfare. “Through initiatives like the Kangchendzonga Kalam Purashkar and Lagansheel Yuva Patrakar Purashkar, the Club shows its deep commitment to encouraging excellence and nurturing young talent in the field,” he noted.

Bhandari extended his special congratulations to the winners of this year’s Kangchendzonga Kalam Purashkar and Lagansheel Yuva Patrakar Purashkar. He said these awards celebrate those who have made significant contributions to society through honest and impactful reporting.

“The Press Club of Sikkim has become a pillar for the state’s media landscape. It uplifts journalists, provides them with a strong voice, and helps foster a sense of unity and responsibility within the media fraternity,” Bhandari stated.

He also stated the critical role of journalists in a democracy, calling them “carriers of truth and agents of change.” According to him, it is through the tireless efforts of journalists that people stay informed, institutions are held accountable, and democratic values are preserved.

Wishing the Club a future filled with even greater milestones, Bhandari added, “May this milestone usher in a year of inspiring growth, innovative storytelling, and impactful contributions. Here’s to another year of groundbreaking journalism!”

Founded in 2001, the Press Club of Sikkim has grown to become a central body for journalists in the state, promoting professional development, welfare, and ethical reporting. Its foundation day is now a key event that brings together media professionals and stakeholders to reflect on the past and envision the future of journalism in Sikkim.
