The second semi-final of the 23rd Chief Minister’s Compound Archery Gold Cup delivered an action-packed contest as Green Tara faced off against Tathangchen Gold at the Karthok Archery Field in Pakyong. The intense match saw Green Tara securing a convincing 56–37 victory, earning a spot in the highly anticipated grand finale.
The event was graced by Honourable Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs and Public Health Engineering Department, Ven. Sonam Lama, who served as the Chief Guest, alongside Honourable MLA cum Advisor, Smt. Pamin Lepcha. Their presence added to the significance of the occasion, attended by dignitaries from the Ecclesiastical and PHE Departments, Panchayat representatives, and members of the Sports Department, as well as executive members of the SKM Pakyong District Committee.
In an outstanding individual display, Mr. Lekey Dorjee of Green Tara was named Man of the Match for his exceptional performance on the field, helping propel his team to victory.
The event's cultural vibrance was highlighted by traditional dance performances from local artists, along with the revival of heritage games such as kite flying and hand dart competitions, showcasing a perfect blend of sports, culture, and community spirit.
