Governor Om Prakash Mathur joins Holi celebrations at MG Marg in Gangtok

Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, participated in the vibrant Holi celebrations at MG Marg, Gangtok, today. Organized by the Sikkim Bihari-Marwari Society and the people of the Gangtok constituency, the festival brought together a diverse gathering in a spirit of unity and festivity.
The Hon’ble Governor was accompanied by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, the Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development, Shri Bhoj Raj Rai, the Hon’ble MLA of Gangtok Assembly Constituency, Shri D.N. Barfungpa, and other distinguished guests.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Mathur highlighted the significance of Holi as a festival that spreads the message of unity, joy, and brotherhood. “Holi, the festival of colors, is being celebrated across the country with harmony and enthusiasm. It symbolizes love, goodwill, and togetherness, values that are essential for a peaceful society,” he said.
He further emphasized Sikkim’s exemplary communal harmony, stating that the state stands as a model of unity where people from various communities coexist harmoniously. He lauded Sikkim’s rich cultural diversity and encouraged the continued promotion of inter-community goodwill.
