A plantation drive was organized today at Singbel Ward under Tumin Lingi, aiming to create natural food sources for wildlife and promote peaceful coexistence between humans and animals.
The event was graced by Area MLA Samdup Tsh. Bhutia, who actively joined in planting fruit-bearing trees alongside local Panchayat members, forest officials, school teachers, and students. The drive focused on forest fringe areas where such interventions are expected to have the most impact in reducing wildlife intrusion into human settlements.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Bhutia emphasized the value of ecological balance in rural landscapes. “When forests provide sufficient food, animals are less likely to enter farms or villages. This helps protect both human lives and crops, while also ensuring the safety of wild species,” he said.
