The course, conducted from May 13 to June 7, 2025, was part of a special initiative by the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) in collaboration with ABVIMAS. It aimed to promote physical fitness, self-discipline, and a spirit of adventure among tribal students studying at EMRS across the country.
Over 50 students from different EMRS institutions participated in the training. The team safely returned to Sikkim on June 10, 2025, bringing back not only certificates and recognition but also a renewed sense of confidence and life skills learned through the experience.
The training covered the fundamentals of mountaineering, including rock climbing, survival skills, rope handling, teamwork, and high-altitude trekking. The challenging terrain and disciplined environment helped students step out of their comfort zones and overcome mental and physical barriers.
