Director General SSB visits 36th Battalion in Sikkim to boost morale and welfare

Amrit Mohan Prasad, IPS, Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), concluded a successful three-day visit to the 36th Battalion SSB in Gyalshing, Sikkim, from April 19 to 21, 2025. The visit, aimed at interacting with personnel and assessing their welfare, allowed the Director General to engage directly with officers, subordinate officers, jawans, and their families.
During the visit, Shri Prasad organized a Sainik Sammelan where he listened attentively to the concerns and suggestions of the personnel. He assured the SSB members that their genuine issues would be addressed and reaffirmed his commitment to the well-being of the force. The Director General also praised the dedication, high morale, and unwavering enthusiasm of the jawans, especially those stationed in the tough and high-altitude terrain of Sikkim.
Highlighting the importance of both physical and mental health, Shri Prasad shared plans for an upcoming Anti-Obesity Drive aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles and enhancing operational readiness across the force. This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the overall fitness and performance of SSB personnel.
Beyond interactions with the force, Shri Prasad toured key locations in Gyalshing and held productive discussions with Commandants and district administration officials. These talks were focused on understanding the unique challenges faced by units deployed in the region, particularly in terms of geographical and operational hurdles.
