DGP Sikkim Police personally welcomes evacuated tourists from Lachung
Many tourists expressed their deep gratitude to the Government of Sikkim and all the agencies involved in the evacuation.

The Director General of Police (DGP) of Sikkim, Shri Akshay Sachdeva, personally welcomed the tourists who were safely evacuated from Lachung today. This warm reception was a clear sign of the government’s care and concern for the visitors.
Alongside the DGP, other top police officials were present at Phidang to receive the tourists. These included Inspector General of Police (IGP) Law and Order Mr. Tashi Wangyal, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Range Gangtok Mr. Pratap Pradhan, and Superintendent of Police (SP) Mangan Mr. Sonam Detchu Bhutia. Their presence showed the importance given to ensuring the safety and comfort of the tourists during this process.
Many tourists expressed their deep gratitude to the Government of Sikkim and all the agencies involved in the evacuation. They praised the smooth and well-organized effort that helped them return safely from Lachung. The visitors thanked everyone for their timely assistance and for the hospitality shown despite the difficult circumstances.
