Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly and MLA of the 15 Rangang-Yangang Constituency has launched a new weekly public outreach initiative.

Starting this week, the Deputy Speaker will dedicate every Friday exclusively to interact with the residents of her constituency at the SKM Party Office, Yangang Bazar. This weekly event will serve as an open platform for constituents to voice their grievances, share suggestions, and seek support on local issues directly with their elected representative.

The initiative follows the guidance of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri P. S. Golay, who has consistently emphasized transparent, accessible, and accountable governance as key pillars of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) government. It reflects the state administration’s commitment to strengthening democratic processes at the local level by making leaders more approachable and responsive.

Officials from the local party unit stated that this move is expected to bridge communication gaps, resolve issues more efficiently, and build greater trust between the government and the public. “This is a welcome step towards making governance feel more personal and responsive,” said a resident from the area.

All citizens of the 15 Rangang-Yangang Constituency have been encouraged to attend these Friday sessions and make full use of the opportunity to engage directly with their MLA.
