Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Raj Kumari Thapa chaired a comprehensive coordination meeting at the Yangang BDO Office today. The gathering brought together key officials, elected representatives, and community stakeholders of the 15-Rangang Yangang Constituency to review the status of ongoing and completed development projects.
The meeting was attended by Zilla Panchayat Members, Panchayat Members, SDM Yangang, BDO, Former Zilla Panchayat Adhyaksha cum President of the Panchayat Cell (Namchi District), heads of various departments, block-level officers, NGOs, and other key contributors involved in constituency development.
At the heart of the discussions was a detailed evaluation of the development works initiated by multiple departments. Each department presented a progress report, outlining current achievements, future goals, and the challenges ahead. The gathering reflected a strong spirit of coordination and collective responsibility in shaping the developmental landscape of Yangang.

It was noted that such an initiative could boost local livelihoods, reduce outmigration, and create new employment opportunities for youth and women.
The meeting also reaffirmed the shared commitment of all present to declare Yangang as a Nasha Mukt Block and Constituency — free from the grip of substance abuse. This vision is aligned with the broader goal of building a healthy, empowered society, as envisioned by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Speaker Thapa spoke about the the need for compassionate and coordinated action in public service. Sharing her thoughts on social media, she posted, “It was truly inspiring to witness the collaborative spirit and dedication of all departments and stakeholders, working hand in hand to realise the transformative vision of our Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay for a Sunaulo, Samriddha and Samartha Sikkim.”
