The Dentam Subdivision hosted a vibrant Teaching-Learning Materials (TLM) Exhibition-cum-Competition, which drew enthusiastic participation from 33 schools across the region. The event, organized under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Shri N K Karki, was marked by the active presence of Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Indra Hang Subba, who lauded the initiative and announced financial assistance for the top three winning schools from the MPLADS fund.

The day-long exhibition turned into a celebration of creativity and pedagogy, with students and educators jointly presenting innovative TLMs designed to make learning more effective and enjoyable. The exhibits, entirely developed by students under the guidance of their teachers, showcased a wide range of educational aids—from interactive models to hands-on learning tools—crafted using locally available resources.

Two senior faculty members from DIET College, Gyalshing, were invited to judge the competition. They assessed each entry based on creativity, classroom applicability, and its impact on enhancing student understanding. Their expert evaluation brought recognition to the schools that stood out with their imaginative approaches.

The winners of the competition were announced by SDM Shri Karki:

- First Prize: Srinagi Primary School

- Second Prize: Lower Shankhu Primary School

- Third Prize: Som Busty Junior High School

In a gesture that underscored his commitment to improving grassroots education, Shri Subba announced a special allocation from the MPLADS fund to boost these schools’ infrastructure and further their educational efforts. The prize amounts are:

- Rs 5 lakh for the first prize winner

- Rs 4 lakh for the second prize winner

- Rs 3 lakh for the third prize winner

Subba, in his address, emphasized that this initiative reflects a shared vision of making education more inclusive and meaningful. Quoting Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, he reminded attendees, “The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives.” He added that teaching must inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking beyond textbooks.
