Member of Parliament for Darjeeling, Raju Bista, expressed his heartfelt condolences on the passing of Pope Francis, a spiritual leader who garnered respect and admiration worldwide for his humility and deep love for the underprivileged.
In a message of grief, Bista praised Pope Francis for his unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life. "Pope Francis was one of the most loved spiritual figures globally. His unwavering commitment to serving the marginalized and downtrodden communities will forever inspire millions," said Bista.
The MP also acknowledged the Pope's significant efforts in combating poverty and fostering compassion. "In this time of sorrow, we find comfort knowing that Pope Francis' mission to eradicate poverty will continue through the collective efforts of his followers worldwide," Bista added.
Bista, who represents the Darjeeling constituency, also extended his prayers to the people of the region, including the Darjeeling Hills, Terai, and Dooars. "I join the people of Darjeeling in praying for the peaceful repose of the soul of Pope Francis," he said.
