DC Gangtok leads inspection of Jhoras and blocked drainage in Tadong ward

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gangtok, Tushar G. Nikhare, IAS, led a joint inspection of jhoras and blocked drainage systems around CRH Complex and Lumsey Link Road under Tadong Ward in the GMC area.
The inspection team included Ward Councillor Milan Gautam and officials from DDMA Gangtok, Roads & Bridges (NH), Urban Development & Housing Department (UD&HD), GMC, PHE, Water Security & Drainage Department (WS&DD), and CRH Manipal.
During the inspection, DC Nikhare instructed all concerned departments to resolve the drainage issues within seven days while ensuring proper coordination among stakeholders. He also emphasized the installation of CCTV cameras at key locations to monitor violations and take strict action against offenders.
Furthermore, officials were directed to conduct a detailed investigation and submit a comprehensive report with long-term solutions for improving drainage and preventing future blockages.
