Darjeeling MP Raju Bista visited the Indo-Bangladesh Border Outpost (BOP) 132BN at Karzigacch, located in Chopra Block of North Dinajpur District. The visit was aimed at showing solidarity and support for the dedicated Border Security Force (BSF) jawans stationed at the border, who have been working under challenging circumstances.

Bista commended the bravery and dedication of the BSF personnel, especially in light of the ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh and the continued skirmishes along the border. Despite the tough geographical and weather conditions, the BSF jawans have been working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of India’s borders.

“It is thanks to the selflessness and courage of our BSF officers and jawans that Indian citizens feel safe and protected, even amid the political turmoil in Bangladesh,” said Bista. He further lauded the BSF as the first line of defense for the country.

However, the MP also expressed concern over the criticism directed at the BSF by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, and other TMC leaders. Bista condemned their attacks on the security forces, pointing out that some individuals in the TMC administration have been accused of providing support to illegal infiltrators by assisting them in acquiring Indian documents like Aadhar cards, Ration Cards, Voter IDs, and Passports. He questioned the actions taken by Mamata Banerjee's government against such activities.

Bista also reminded the West Bengal Chief Minister that it is the relentless efforts of the BSF, SSB, and Army jawans that keep the nation safe, regardless of the political motivations of the state government. He said that while the TMC may oppose the BSF due to its political interests, the people of West Bengal, including those from Sukdebpur in Kaliachak 3 Block, Malda, have shown unwavering support for the security forces.
