C.P. Radhakrishnan meets Raju Bista, gains support as NDA’s Vice-President nominee

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Parliament from Darjeeling, Raju Bista, met National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) Vice-Presidential nominee C.P. Radhakrishnan in New Delhi on Friday and extended his support to him.
Bista described the meeting as an honour and praised Radhakrishnan for his long years of public service and his clean image in politics. “Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan ji is a grassroots social change maker. He is widely known and respected for his integrity and his expertise in governance. As the next Vice-President of our nation, he will bring with him decades of experiences serving the people in various capacities,” Bista said after the meeting.
Radhakrishnan, who hails from Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu, has been in public life for more than four decades. He was elected twice to the Lok Sabha from Coimbatore and earned a reputation as a people’s leader who stayed connected to his roots. Over the years, he has served in many important constitutional positions, including Governor of Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Telangana, and also as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
His career has been marked by a balance of administrative experience and strong connect with ordinary citizens. Leaders within the BJP and the NDA have often highlighted his ability to carry people along with him, while also ensuring transparency in governance.
Raju Bista, who also serves as BJP’s national spokesperson, said that Radhakrishnan’s nomination for Vice-President reflects the NDA’s commitment to give leadership roles to leaders who have a clean track record. “His life has been dedicated to the service of people, and his values will strengthen the working of Parliament,” Bista said.
