A constituency-level meeting for the formation of the Core Organising Committee of the much-anticipated “Go Sadam 2025” was held with great enthusiasm at Sadam on Monday. The event marked the beginning of coordinated efforts to transform the upcoming tourism festival into a landmark celebration for the region.

The meeting was convened under the able guidance of Hon’ble Area MLA Shri N.B. Pradhan and was chaired by Hon’ble Zilla Adhakshya Ms. Anjeeta Rajalim. The presence of senior leaders, grassroots representatives, and stakeholders underscored the importance being attached to the initiative, which aims to highlight Sadam’s potential as a vibrant tourism destination in South Sikkim.

Several dignitaries participated in the gathering, including Hon’ble Zilla Members, Panchayat Presidents, the CLC President and Youth Convenor, as well as the Nari Convenor of 12-Melli. Senior officials such as the Station House Officer (SHO) of Melli and other chairpersons were also present. Their participation lent weight to the proceedings and signaled strong administrative and community backing for the festival.

The meeting also drew aspiring trainees who will soon undergo skill-based tourism courses. Their involvement reflected the long-term vision behind “Go Sadam 2025”—not just as a one-time event, but as a platform for capacity building, employment generation, and sustainable development.

In her address, Zilla Adhakshya Ms. Rajalim spoke about the significance of a united approach in making the festival a success. She stressed the need for synergy between political leadership, local bodies, and the community. “Go Sadam 2025 is not just a celebration of our culture and natural beauty, it is an opportunity to create lasting benefits for our youth and local entrepreneurs,” she said.
