College student dies after falling into waterfall in Yangang

Sunaina Subba, a young student of the Limboo Department at Yangang Government College, lost her life after falling into a waterfall near Majuwa village in Yangang. The 21-year-old was a resident of Timburbong in Soreng district.

The accident occurred around 11:00 AM on Sunday while Sunaina was reportedly enjoying the scenic waterfall area. According to preliminary reports, she slipped and fell into a deep gorge, leading to her untimely death. The area, popular among locals for its natural beauty, turned into a site of sorrow as the news of the accident spread.

Upon receiving the alert, the Yangang Police, along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), swiftly launched a search and rescue operation. After an intensive effort, her lifeless body was retrieved from the gorge and transported to the Yangang Primary Health Centre (PHC) for medical examination and necessary formalities.
